(LAKEWOOD, COLO.) Centura Health, the Colorado and southwest Kansas region’s health care leader, unveiled its newest edition to the St. Anthony Hospital campus, a Surgery Center. The Surgery Center is 22,000 square feet with 5 new operating rooms and 3 endoscopy suites, all supporting pre- and post-procedural care locations. This new space is in addition to the 11 operating rooms and 1 T-10 room at St. Anthony Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center.
With the additional 22,000 square feet of space, St. Anthony Hospital is equipped to serve at least 100 more patients each week with incredibly skilled physicians, surgeons and associates who come from all over the country to serve Colorado. In 2022, St. Anthony Hospital conducted more than 8,000 surgeries in its existing operating rooms, and over the last year has seen a 10 percent increase in surgical volume.
"The Surgery Center is over a year in the making, in response to the growing needs of the Lakewood community," shared Kevin Jenkins, St. Anthony Hospital CEO. "Just as our founders were committed to bringing health care to the Denver area 130 years ago, St. Anthony Hospital is proud to continue on that journey by expanding care with the Surgery Center."
The Surgery Center is a $28 million project that expands care to the more than 155,000 residents of the Lakewood community and beyond.
