About John Hudson, MD
John Hudson, MD, PHD, FAANS, is a Denver native specializing in treating brain tumors, aneurysms, and arteriovenous malformations (AVM) with minimally invasive neurosurgery. He has been treating patients at the St. Anthony Hospital campus for more than 20 years. Dr. Hudson also performs neurosurgery to treat spinal tumors. He uses stealth surgical navigation technology, neuroendoscopy, and minimally invasive techniques to deliver the most precise neurosurgical treatment resulting in faster recovery. Dr. Hudson also earned a PhD in neuro-pharmacology and conducts research in this field at St. Anthony Hospital. Dr. Hudson became a neurosurgeon is the variety and complexity of treating the nervous system, which is involved in every function of the entire body. He feels the most rewarding part of being a neurosurgeon is being able to walk beside patients through an experience that often involve very complex surgical procedures. Dr. Hudson believes in tailoring available treatment options to what that patient will fare best with for their rest of their lifetime.
Dr. Hudson currently serves as Medical Director of the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at St. Anthony Hospital. In addition, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at the UC Health Sciences Center. Dr. Hudson is one of four neurosurgeons to be named Top Doctor by 5280 Magazine in 2019.
Dr. Hudson attended the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Aurora, Colorado. He completed is residency University of Colorado – Health Sciences Center.
