About Edmund Rowland, MD
Edmund B. Rowland, MD is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery from the American Board of Surgery.
A specialist in fracture care and hand surgery, Dr. Rowland received his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University and his medical degree from Temple University. During his orthopedic residency at Temple University, Dr. Rowland became interested in the management of complex fractures seen in trauma patients. To further his expertise in managing these complex fractures, Dr. Rowland completed a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the Kleinert Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, a world renowned center for the treatment of the severely injured upper extremity.
Following his training, Dr. Rowland joined the Orthopedic Department at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he was an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery. His practice was highly specialized, focusing entirely on fracture care and hand surgery. He holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery and is a member of the Hand Society. He is also a faculty member of AO North America, an organization that is involved in training orthopedic physicians around the country in trauma techniques.
Dr. Rowland and his wife, lifelong outdoor enthusiasts, spend their free time enjoying endless outdoor activities with their children.
