At CommonSpirit Health, we are committed to putting the needs of patients first and improving community health. In this spirit, we are pleased to share that we have reached a new, responsible contract with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Colorado that restores access to the doctors and nurses our patients know and trust.
The new agreement means Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield-insured patients once again have in-network access to all CommonSpirit hospitals, clinics, providers and services in Colorado. In addition, any health care services a patient may have received at a CommonSpirit hospital or clinic since our previous contract with Anthem expired on May 1 will be covered at the in-network benefit levels.
Furthermore, services at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Morgan and Peak One Surgery Center in Frisco will remain in-network. Our agreements with Anthem for these facilities will no longer end on previously announced dates, and in-network coverage will continue uninterrupted.
Our Colorado hospitals include:
- Longmont United Hospital
- Mercy Hospital in Durango
- OrthoColorado Hospital in Lakewood
- Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs
- St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood
- St. Anthony North Hospital in Westminster
- St. Anthony Summit Hospital in Frisco
- St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Morgan
- St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs
- St. Francis-Interquest Hospital in Colorado Springs
- St. Mary-Corwin Hospital in Pueblo
- St. Thomas More Hospital in Cañon City
This is a positive development for patients who deserve access to high-quality, high-value health care services close to home. We know the negotiations were stressful and we thank everyone for their patience as we worked through this process. We could not be happier to share the news of our new agreement and to continue serving our communities.
From the beginning, our goal in working with Anthem has always been about ensuring we can continue to meet the needs of our patients today and in the future. Responsible agreements with insurance companies allow us to keep building more resilient communities, advocate for the poor and vulnerable, and innovate how and where health can happen—both inside our hospitals and in our communities.
We recognize our patients have a choice in their health care, and we are grateful for the continued trust in CommonSpirit. We look forward to continuing our work to bring our patients the high-quality care they deserve.
