At Holy Cross Hospital – Jordan Valley West, we want to make each delivery special for every mom. Our birth center is safe and ready to deliver you and your baby all the care and expertise you need while you focus on the fun decisions.
Our Services
A total makeover at the at Holy Cross Hospital – Jordan Valley West birth center brought a freshly appointed lobby and private suites that allow moms to labor, deliver and recover in the same comfortable environment.
Our home-like atmosphere features adjustable beds, jetted tubs and a large, comfortable sofa that can be turned into a bed for your partner, spouse, or birth coach. Should you require a Cesarean section, we have a fully dedicated operating room within the maternity unit.
Classes
We offer a few types of classes for moms and families. Many women first come to us for a free pregnancy testing. Free childbirth classes will guide you through every stage of pregnancy, from the first trimester all the way up to delivery.
Our birth preparation class will show you what to expect when it's time to have your baby, including the holistic process of labor, potential medical interventions, pain management, breathing and relaxation techniques and the possibility of Cesarean birth.
Infant security
Our Hugs Infant Protection system uses a small, safe ankle monitoring band that’s only removed when you take your baby home for the first time. The band transmits an electronic signal to a nursing station and alerts nurses if a baby ever moves too close to a maternity unit exit, giving you peace of mind that you and your baby are correctly matched and completely safe at all times.
Natural birthing suites
Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley West offers specially equipped suites for women who want to experience natural childbirth with an “at-home” feel. Walking and moving during labor are encouraged in this welcoming open environment. In-suite natural birth amenities and activities include:
- Jetted tub
- Birthing ball/peanut ball
- Comfortable upright birthing chair (CUB)
- Rocking chair
- Massage and counter pressure instructional guides
- Sitting area with Bluetooth speaker and essential oils diffuser
NICU & nursery
Nurseries are available for mothers who need to rest or recover without their baby in the room. Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley West provides Level I and II special care nurseries. Should your baby need the expertise of a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), we provide a Level III NICU at Holy Cross Hospital -Jordan Valley.
Postpartum
Once your baby is born and you have had a chance to recover, the two of you will be moved into the postpartum unit, where the same nurses will care for you and your baby.
Sharing a room with your baby is encouraged, as rooming-in gives families time to bond and helps new parents learn how to care for their infant with the professional assistance of our nursing staff.
All nurses are BLS, NRP, STABLE (in the nursery), and ACLS certified.
