(ENGLEWOOD, COLO.) – Centura Health, the region’s health care leader, recently initiated physician-facing orientation which will be provided across our 17 hospitals to ensure that all new perioperative physicians are fully “practice ready” on day one from a supply and equipment perspective.
This holistic orientation provided by Supply Chain sets the stage for new physicians to meet the teams they will be working with, as well as provides an environment to discuss supply and equipment needs. This framework improves patient safety, minimizes case delays, optimizes supply chain efficiency and increases operating room use.
St. Anthony Hospital, a Level-1 Trauma Center, was the first Centura Health hospital to implement this on-boarding orientation. “This process reaches the very core of our focus - patient care - and ensures that our hospital is a place where physicians want to work,” explained Dr. Winston Tripp, Chief Medical Officer. “Through a simple, one-day orientation, physicians receive the necessary tools and support to ensure that their primary focus can be exceptional care delivery.”
This orientation establishes a framework that will helps guide physicians’ workflows downstream that are user-friendly and efficient. With this orientation in place we will establish a clinical partnership from the beginning which supports their ability to provide excellent care while aligning with our processes and fiscal priorities.
