Centura Health, the region’s health care leader, is excited to announce that six hospitals across Colorado received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for spring 2022. This national distinction recognizes Centura’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error in the hospital.
The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an A through F grade to all general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
“Our 21,000 caregivers are committed to achieving zero preventable harm, and the six ‘A’ grades we received this spring speaks to the dedication and progress the team is making toward this goal,” said Dr. Shauna Gulley, Centura Health Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer. “We care deeply about our amazing caregivers and patients and are proud of the work they’ve done to become a High Reliability Organization (HRO).”
The Centura hospitals recognized as 'A' Leapfrog hospitals include:
- Centura-Longmont United Hospital
- Centura-Penrose Hospital
- Centura-St. Anthony North Hospital
- Centura-St. Anthony Summit Hospital
- Centura-St. Francis Hospital
- Centura-St. Mary Corwin Hospital
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring
