While the colors may change, the high-quality, life-saving care remains the same
CENTENNIAL, CO (March 17, 2025) – CommonSpirit Health is pleased to announce a new design for the Flight for Life helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft and ambulances that provide life-saving care to our communities across Colorado and Kansas.
Flight for Life is the nation's first and one of the most accomplished air medical transport programs. It provides medical care transport with six helicopters, seven ambulances and three airplanes operating out of the Denver metro area, Summit County, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Fort Morgan, Durango and soon Garden City, Kansas. The program is wholly owned by CommonSpirit, which operates 20 hospitals and more than 260 clinics across Colorado, Utah and Kansas.
The new design and colors align with the CommonSpirit brand, creating a unified look that effectively communicates the exceptional quality of care and critical services provided by Flight for Life.
“While colors may be changing, one thing will remain constant: the unwavering commitment of our Flight for Life crews to deliver the highest standard of care to our patients,” said Andrew Gaasch, CommonSpirit Mountain Region President. “The exceptional reputation that exists today for Flight for Life, as one of the nation’s leading medical transport programs, comes because of Flight for Life’s caregivers, its crew, its support staff and its leaders, not because of the colors.”
The new design will be phased in over the next several years to minimize service disruptions and ensure that our caregivers can continue to focus on high-quality, compassionate care. The new look includes highly-visible designs and saturated colors, which are key to identifying the aircraft in busy airspaces. The ambulance fleet will be rebranded this spring, while the helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft will begin a phased transition in the fall of 2025. These timelines may adjust based on maintenance schedules.
“This is an exciting time for Flight for Life, and with our new bases at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Morgan and St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, we are increasing our impact on the communities we serve,” said Kathy Mayer, Director of Flight forLife. “Our alignment with the CommonSpirit brand will enhance the recognition and understanding of who we are, further strengthening the confidence our patients place in us as a leading non-profit health system.”
Equipped with the industry's leading technology and an experienced team, Flight for Life transports patients across several states in the Rocky Mountain Region. It also assists search and rescue agencies with specialized services, including aerial search support and our Avalanche Deployment Program, delivering on its commitment to building a healthier future for all and improving access to health care.
