(GARDEN CITY, KAN.) When a stroke occurs, every minute counts – the faster treatment begins the better the chance of a successful recovery. May is National Stroke Awareness Month, let’s take the opportunity to ensure our people, and our community, learn about the life saving care being extended system wide.
St. Catherine Hospital, in partnership with the Senior Center of Finney County, offers Lunch and Learns the third Thursday of each month beginning at 11:30 am. The luncheons, held at the Senior Center, 907 N. 10th, cover important topics concerning senior health.
The lunch and learn scheduled for May 23rd will be presented by Stroke Coordinator, Whitney Weber, and is centered around how to spot the symptoms of a stroke, warning signs and life after stroke. Pre-registration is required for a complimentary meal. To register, which must be made at least 48 hours in advance, please call 620-272-3620.
St. Catherine Hospital is a Primary Stroke Center certified by The Joint Commission and has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Quality Achievement Award.
