Third ED will provide 24/7 emergency care for our Northern Colorado Springs community
(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) July 12, 2023 – A new state-of-the-art Emergency Department is now open at St. Francis Hospital – Interquest (SFI). Located at 10860 New Allegiance Dr., the 24/7 ED is prepared to provide acute, whole person care to community members in Northern Colorado Springs. Additionally, our General Medical Unit is also open to care for patients admitted from the ED.

Today marks a new milestone in our legacy,” said Patrick Sharp, CEO of Penrose and St. Francis Hospitals. “The ED at SFI will be a valuable, life-saving resource for our 30,000 neighbors who live and work in the Interquest area and Monument community. Our world-class team of doctors, nurses and techs are ready to provide whole person care for you and your family.”
The opening of SFI comes after nearly three years of construction, including building during a pandemic that resulted in supply chain issues both locally and nationally. Dubbed the "Hospital of the Future," this state-of-the-art facility was designed to foster an environment of collaboration that elevates the patient and caregiver experience. For example, inside this 72-bed facility are smart rooms that give patients access to control their space including meal ordering, access to test results for provider consultation and temperature regulation – all within a touch-screen tablet.
“When emergencies happen at home or on the road, you want access to the best possible care. Whether it’s the flu, or a sprained ankle, or altitude sickness, the caregivers at our ED are available to help treat you day or night,” said Brian Crawford, MD, SFI's ED Medical Director.
The next phase in opening SFI includes offering spinal and orthopedic surgical services to community members in need of compassionate care and treatment.
