As Mountain Region President, Andrew leads the 20 hospitals, 260 clinics, and 16,000 employees who provide care to the communities across Colorado, Kansas and Utah.

Andrew, who has always demonstrated a deep commitment to our patients, employees and communities, has faithfully served CommonSpirit Health for 22 years. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, overseeing key aspects of the integration into CommonSpirit. Prior to that, he spent three years as CFO, leading the Region through the pandemic, followed by one of the worst inflationary periods in recent history. Andrew has also served as Chief Ambulatory Officer and has extensive experience in operational and financial management.

Andrew received a bachelor’s degree in management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and has a master's degree in strategic healthcare leadership from the University of Denver. He is a member of the American Institute for Certified Public Accountants, the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Ryan Tobin serves as Market President for the Greater Denver Market of CommonSpirit Health, providing strategic and operational leadership, as well as market growth management, for six Colorado hospitals. These include St. Anthony, St. Anthony North, St. Anthony Summit, OrthoColorado, Longmont United and St. Elizabeth.

With more than 16 years of health care leadership experience, Ryan most recently served as CEO and President of Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, the largest hospital within HealthOne. He previously served as CEO and President of Rose Medical Center in Denver, and before that in a leadership role with CommonSpirit, helping to relocate and build St. Anthony and OrthoColorado hospitals on their current campus.

Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration and his Master of Science in healthcare administration from Trinity University. He then went on to complete his residency at Memorial Hermann in Houston before moving to Denver in 2008. He has served on several boards, including the Denver Scholarship Foundation and Colorado Hospital Association.

Jeremy Bradshaw serves as Market President for the Greater Salt Lake Market of CommonSpirit Health, providing strategic and operational leadership for our five CommonSpirit Holy Cross hospitals in northern Utah, as well as management of market growth in the state.

With more than 20 years of experience in health care leadership, Jeremy previously served as Chief Executive Officer at St. Mark’s Hospital in Utah, and before that, as CEO of MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas. Earlier in his career, he led operations for the transplant center at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Jeremy is known for prioritizing patient safety and improving the patient experience while driving market growth. He led multiple hospitals to achieve Leapfrog “A” grades for patient safety during his tenure.

A Utah native, Jeremy earned his Bachelor of Science in business management from Southern Utah University and his Master of Health Administration from the University of Minnesota. He has been active for many years with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is a past president and current mentor in the ACHE-Nevada chapter.

As Market President for Greater Colorado and Kansas, Peter provides strategic and operational leadership for nine of our hospitals – Bob Wilson Memorial, Mercy, Penrose, St. Catherine – Dodge City, St. Catherine – Garden City, St. Francis, St. Francis – Interquest, St. Mary-Corwin and St. Thomas More.

Peter previously served CommonSpirit for eight years before returning to our ministry in July 2024. He joined Longmont United Hospital in 2012 as the Director of Strategic Planning & Business Development/Administrative Fellow, he then moved into the VP of Operations role at Longmont before transitioning to COO at St. Anthony Hospital. Peter then served as CEO of St. Anthony Hospital before leaving in 2020 to lead Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida as CEO.

Peter earned his bachelor’s degree in public affairs with a minor in business and sociology from Indiana University. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia.

Tadd Richert is the Chief Financial Officer for our Mountain Region where he is responsible for building a strategic approach to financial stewardship for CommonSpirit’s operations and growth opportunities in Colorado, Kansas and Utah.

Prior to taking this role in September 2024, Tadd served as the interim Chief Executive Officer at St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs. Tadd initially joined the Mountain Region six years ago and served in various finance roles, including Group Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance for Acute Care. Before joining the Mountain Region, Tadd served in several senior leadership roles at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock, Arkansas, including Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Tadd received his bachelor of science in accounting from the University of Arkansas and his master of business administration from Harding University.

Dr. Timothy Bode serves as our Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the Mountain Region. As CMO, Dr. Bode oversees our clinical operations and excellence, ensuring our patients throughout Colorado, Kansas and Utah receive the highest level of care.

For several decades, Dr. Bode has held a variety of healthcare leadership roles. Prior to joining CommonSpirit, Dr. Bode served as Chief Clinical Officer at Ascension St. Vincent’s in Birmingham, Alabama. While there, Dr. Bode was responsible for leading the strategic clinical direction for both inpatient and outpatient care. This role included overseeing multiple acute care hospitals, 25 ambulatory care sites, three ambulatory surgery centers, clinically integrated medical practices, hospice, telehealth services, home care, sleep centers, and a home infusion company.

Dr. Bode received his bachelor of science in biochemistry from the University of California and his master of business administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He received his doctor of medicine degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Bode is a senior fellow in hospital medicine and a Team STEPPS Master Trainer.

Audre serves our Mountain Region as Chief Strategy Officer. She manages strategic growth and development across Colorado, Kansas and Utah, while maintaining a focus on building the CommonSpirit brand, improving access to care, supporting growth and market share, and driving innovation and change.

Prior to joining CommonSpirit, Audre was EVP of Business Development and CSO at UChicago Medicine, where she led the development of the organization’s Vision 2025 strategic plan and expansion into new markets. Audre also served as Vice President of Strategic Planning at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. Before that, she was a consultant and engagement manager at the Chartis Group.

Audre obtained her Bachelor of Arts in history and her Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Chicago.

Katherine serves our Mountain Region as Senior Vice President and Region General Counsel. She is responsible for legal operations matters across Colorado, Kansas and Utah.

Katherine initially joined CommonSpirit Health in March 2024 as Senior Counsel, Legal Operations for the Mountain Region. Prior to joining CommonSpirit, Katherine spent a decade with University of Colorado Health, where she served as Associate General Counsel to the 3,000-provider medical group and its board of directors, advising on a wide variety of legal matters. Prior to that, Katherine served as Associate Counsel at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and as Corporate Responsibility and Privacy Officer for Centura Health.

Katherine received her juris doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and she completed her undergraduate degree in kinesiology at the University of Illinois.

Shauna Gulley, MD, serves as System Senior Vice President for the Physician Enterprise, serving the Mountain Region of CommonSpirit Health. She is responsible for leading the CommonSpirit Medical Group, driving service line growth, partnering with independent medical groups, and overseeing our clinically integrated network.

A CommonSpirit leader since 2009, Dr. Gulley most recently served as our Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer, leading clinical enterprise to nationally recognized excellence in clinical quality and patient safety through a culture of high reliability. Dr. Gulley’s experience as a health care leader, along with her role as a practicing pediatrician and internist, is instrumental in catalyzing the innovative change needed to make health care healthier, while engaging, aligning and growing the physician enterprise in the region. 

Dr. Gulley earned her medical doctorate from the University of Arizona College of Medicine where she was designated a Dean’s Scholar, and her MBA from the Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst. 

Brenda Simpson, DNP, RN, CENP, is the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for CommonSpirit Health. Supporting our nearly 6,500 nurses, Brenda is on a mission to be an advocate for those we serve, including our patients, communities and caregivers. She is responsible for managing and evaluating system-wide clinical policies and the nursing shared governance framework, nursing professional development and the Central Staffing Office. Brenda is committed to enhancing clinical excellence, patient safety and delivering whole person care – mind, body and spirit - across CommonSpirit's care system.

With more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience, Brenda has a passion for leading teams to nursing excellence. She served as System Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer for Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) in Gainesville, Ga. for five years and prior to joining NGHS, she spent nine years as System Senior Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer at CHI St. Vincent Health System in Little Rock, now a part of CommonSpirit Health. Brenda also has held the role of Team Leader as an American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Appraiser for the past six years.

Brenda earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Tennessee State University in Nashville, a master's in nursing from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. She is Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP), a member of the American Organization of Nursing Leadership and the American Nurses Association, and has published extensively on topics related to optimizing nurse leadership practice.

Julie Strittmatter serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Mountain Region and is responsible for overseeing our HR management, operations and practices across Colorado, Kansas and Utah.

Julie has extensive experience as a human resources leader and comes with more than two decades of knowledge from working in the healthcare space. Most recently, in addition to serving in the Mountain Region interim role, she was the System Vice President of People Operations, Mergers/Acquisitions and Service Lines and Integration for CommonSpirit Health. 

Prior to joining CommonSpirit in 2018, Julie was the Vice President of Human Resources East and West Divisions at U.S. Renal Care in Texas. She also served in human resources leadership roles at Baylor Scott and White Health in Dallas and at Texas Health Resources in Fort Worth.

Julie received her bachelor of business administration in Human Resources and Industrial Relations at the University of North Texas and her master of business administration from Texas Woman’s University. Julie also has her SPHR certification.

Brady Small serves as Chief Information Officer for the Mountain Region of CommonSpirit Health. He is experienced in leading IT systems and operational plans to support clinical, patient-focused priorities and business strategies.

Brady has served in numerous executive positions, including Director and Client Accountable Executive for Oracle Health and Director of Solutions Design and Partner Success for Iris Telehealth. He also serves as an Advisor for the Customer Experience program within the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business.

Brady earned his bachelor of arts degree in business and psychology, with a minor in organizational leadership, from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas. 

As the Mountain Region’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Ethan leads CommonSpirit’s efforts in marketing, branding, advertising, sponsorships, internal communications, media, and public relations. 

Prior to joining CommonSpirit in 2020, Ethan spent 15 years as marketing and communications director for Intermountain Health, with specific responsibilities to lead the marketing and communications work for the organization’s key services.

Ethan received a bachelor’s degree in public relations and interpersonal communication from Southern Utah University and a master of business administration from the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University.

As Mountain Region Vice President for Philanthropy, Paul provides strategic, fundraising and operational leadership of our local foundations across Colorado, Kansas and Utah.

Paul has led philanthropy efforts for a wide variety of organizations for the last 23 years. Prior to joining CommonSpirit, Paul served as the Region Vice President for SSM Health based in St. Louis, MO. where he oversaw foundations across the St. Louis Metro as well as in mid-Missouri and Southern Illinois.

Throughout his career, he has held a leadership and campaign position with the University of Missouri Health Sciences; served as a Director of Major and Planned Gifts for the University of Wisconsin; served as a Senior Director for Major Gifts at the University of Florida; and was a Principal Gifts Officer for Mayo Clinic. Paul has also held positions with children’s hospitals as well as large national non-profit organizations.

Sarah Hill, PhD, serves as our Chief Mission Integration Officer for the Mountain Region. In this role, Sarah ensures that CommonSpirit’s Mission, Vision and Values are integrated in all aspects of our processes, structures and outcomes across the Mountain Region

Before joining our CommonSpirit team, Sarah served as the Regional Vice President of Mission Integration at Christus Santa Rosa Health System and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Texas. In this role, she was responsible for providing executive oversight and direction to the Mission Integration team where her work mostly focused on ethics and moving the company’s mission forward. Prior to that, Sarah worked at Ascension Health – holding several positions throughout here 13 years there, including Chief Mission Integration Officer. 

Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in molecular biology and biochemistry from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received her Master of Arts in interdisciplinary humanities from the Center for Health Care Ethics at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. She went on to receive her PhD in Health Care Ethics from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri.
