The recent data release by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is testament to the exceptional, high-quality, whole person care Mercy Regional Medical Center provides.
CMS once again recognized Mercy Regional Medical Center with a 5-star rating for overall hospital quality! We have received a 5-star rating in each of Medicare’s previous data releases, the first of which was in July of 2016, making this Mercy Regional Medical Center’s sixth straight 5-star rating.
Mercy Regional Medical Center is one of only 16 in Colorado to receive a 5-Star rating for overall hospital quality in the most recent release. Nationally, only 455 hospitals — just 13.6% of 3,355 rated by CMS — received a 5-Star rating. The most common overall hospital quality rating is three stars.

The overall hospital quality star ratings are based on a composite score from seven categories containing a total of 57 hospital quality measures. Outcome categories include mortality, safety of care, readmissions, patient experience, effectiveness of care, timeliness of care and effective use of medical imaging.
Forty-nine hospitals in Colorado were rated by CMS in the most recent data release.
