(Colorado Springs, CO)Our dedication to the Colorado Springs community began with a single hospital in 1887, and today we are committed to expanding our legacy—to build healthier individuals, healthier families and healthier neighborhoods.
With our rich history in mind, we are excited to share that we have decided to change the name of St. Clare Hospital, our third hospital in Colorado Springs to St. Francis Hospital - Interquest.
The decision was made after we surveyed the community and found that the Penrose-St. Francis brand signals the highest level of quality and care. The St. Francis name carries a legacy of compassion, and healing. We are thrilled to extend our Mission and amplify wholeness and healing with the opening of our third campus.
St. Clare will still be honored throughout the new hospital, both in spirit and design. A 25-foot custom sculpture of St. Clare will greet patients, visitors, and caregivers at the front entrance. Her life-long dedication to serving God will be celebrated as we continue her mission of serving others.
When she was 18, Francis of Assisi came to preach in a nearby church. Inspired by his words, Clare asked Francis to help her dedicate her life to God. In 1212 she took vows dedicating her life to God which marked the beginning of the Second Order of Saint Francis. Both saints devoted their lives to serving the sick and the poor.
Thank you for being part of this journey as we extend our Mission and amplify wholeness and healing to care for more community members in the northern part of Colorado Springs.
