Only hospital in southern Colorado to have this designation and international recognition
The Out-Patient Rehabilitation department at Penrose Hospital was recently designated as a Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN) Conservative Care Center of Excellence. Penrose is the only hospital in southern Colorado and only one of three organizations in the state that has earned this designation.
“This distinction validates and recognizes that Penrose has a world-class lymphedema management program. Our therapists provide a comprehensive care approach to lymphedema and address the disease from many angles to truly provide the best care and treatment,” said Kristi Ecklund, manager of Out-Patient Rehabilitation at Penrose.
“Our therapists are passionate about lymphedema care, and this is the primary focus of their careers. It is one of many diagnoses they treat.”
The Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN) is an internationally recognized non-profit organization founded in 1998 to fight lymphatic disease (LD) through education, research, and advocacy. Lymphatic diseases include lymphedema (LE), lipedema, and lymphatic anomalies.
