August 1, 2024

Westminster, Colo. (July 31, 2024) – On Monday, July 29, 2024, CommonSpirit Health St. Anthony North Hospital celebrated the opening of their new 3 West surgical unit with a ribbon cutting and blessing ceremony.

Joined by hospital and community leaders, the ceremony took place in the brand-new tower on the St. Anthony North campus.

“This new tower is more than just a building; it is a symbol of our dedication to advancing medical care and enhancing patient experiences,” said Dr. Constance Schmidt, CEO of St. Anthony North. “With state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge technology, and a design focused on patient comfort and safety, we are setting a new standard for healthcare in the region.”

The beautiful space, which is five stories and 131,000 square feet, houses the 3 West surgical unit, which sees its first patient on July 31, and will soon include a premier 30,000 square foot cancer center, opening in January 2025. The cancer center will incorporate Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Infusion, and space for specialists to see patients. Once the rest of the tower is complete, it will include a total of three 30-bed medical surgical units and a future additional 25-bed ICU.

St. Anthony North’s expansion is not only paramount for the hospital and the CommonSpirit ministry, but for the Greater Denver community as we further our commitment of keeping quality and compassionate care local.

“We have continually met the growing demands for high quality health care in this community and we will continue to do just that in the future, making the healing presence of God known in this world,” said CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region President Andrew Gaasch. “From expanding this state-of-the art hospital, to the continued development of our high-performing services lines, to our commitment to provide safe, quality care to each community we serve, the Mountain Region is on the doorstep of tremendous growth and opportunity.”
