The hospital in West Valley City is now named CommonSpirit Holy Cross Hospital - West Valley to more accurately reflect its location
West Valley City, Utah (December 2, 2024) – In partnership with community member focus groups, local physicians and other medical staff, CommonSpirit Health is proud to announce the new name of CommonSpirit Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley West is CommonSpirit Holy Cross Hospital - West Valley.
This updated name will more directly reflect the hospital’s location in our community - West Valley City - and allow for a more accurate online search and wayfinding for patients and visitors of the hospital. The new name will also help to distinguish it from its sister hospital, CommonSpirit Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley, located in West Jordan - all while maintaining the recognition of the CommonSpirit Holy Cross legacy of care.
“Patient safety is our highest priority,” said Christine McSweeney, President, Holy Cross Hospital - West Valley and Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley. “It is essential that we provide our patients and communities with a clear understanding of where they can go to receive care - this includes being able to identify the names and locations of our hospitals. While we may have a new name - our patients can expect to receive the same great care they’ve come to know and expect.”
CommonSpirit acquired five Utah hospitals in 2023 - this includes Holy Cross Hospital - West Valley - and have taken into account feedback from patients, employees and physicians on the hospital’s name since the beginning. The team at CommonSpirit also conducted extensive research earlier this year before deciding upon the new name. In addition to Holy Cross Hospital - West Valley, CommonSpirit delivers care through dozens of clinics and four additional hospitals along the Wasatch Front, including Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley, Holy Cross Hospital - Salt Lake, Holy Cross Hospital - Davis and Holy Cross Hospital - Mountain Point.
