Westminster, Colo. (January 10, 2025) – CommonSpirit St. Anthony North Hospital celebrated the opening of its new, state-of-the-art cancer center with a ribbon cutting and blessing ceremony on January 9, 2025. Joined by hospital and community leaders, the ceremony took place in the new center on the St. Anthony North campus.

“Through cutting-edge technology, state-of-the-art facilities and the brightest minds in cancer treatment, we are proud to now be able to provide our neighbors with quality and compassionate care in one location,” said Dr. Constance Schmidt, President of St. Anthony North. “Our team of surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, oncology nurses and nurse navigators, genetic counselors, and support staff work together seamlessly, providing a comprehensive and coordinated approach to cancer care for the best possible patient outcomes.”

This premier 30,000-square-foot Cancer Center, which incorporates Medical Oncology, Hematology and Infusion, Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and space for specialists to see patients, will include 13 private infusion rooms and has the ability to offer multidisciplinary clinics where patients can meet with all of their care team in one visit. Patients also have access to a variety of integrated supportive services such as acupuncture, genetic counseling, massage therapy, nutrition, phlebotomy services, social work, and more, to assist in their healing journey.

“Receiving a cancer diagnosis is life-changing and devastating for patients, families and loved ones,” said CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region President Andrew Gaasch. “The very last thing someone should need to consider after hearing this news is how they are going to find the time and energy to travel to receive high-quality care. Our hope is that no one in the communities we serve will ever need to travel far from home to receive outstanding cancer care, and today, we are one step closer to fulfilling that goal.”
