About George Chaus, MD
George Chaus, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in orthopedic trauma and fracture care. Dr. Chaus is also experienced in pelvic, acetabular and hip reconstruction.
Dr. Chaus joined the Orthopaedic and Spine Center of the Rockis after completing an AO Orthopaedic Trauma fellowship at Harvard University under the tutelage of master pelvic surgeon Dr. Mark S. Vrahas. As a fellow, he participated in the care of patients with the most severe and life-threatening injuries. This prestigious fellowship has provided Dr. Chaus with extensive clinical and surgical experience in pelvic and acetabular trauma/reconstruction and peri-articular fractures. He applies the newest, least invasive and most advanced techniques to facilitate fracture healing and best possible functional outcome. Common conditions treated include hip fractures, ankle fractures and wrist fractures. Dr. Chaus also treats nonunions (bones that have failed to heal), malunions (bones that have healed in poor alignment), and periprosthetic fractures.
Prior to Dr. Chaus' fellowship, he completed his residency at the University of Colorado, where he gained considerable experience in orthopedic trauma and adult reconstruction. In addition, Dr. Chaus has authored numerous published manuscripts in peer-reviewed orthopedic journals and has presented his research at both national and international meetings.
Dr. Chaus is considered board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is active in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and AO trauma.
