About Amy Kelmenson, MD
Amy Kelmenson, MD, believes in compassionate, personalized care and a hands-on approach to treating her patients. She speaks both English and Spanish. Dr. Kelmenson performs procedures including cataract surgery, corneal transplant and refractive surgery such as LASIK. She has received specialized training in corneal and ocular surface disease and surgeries, but treats patients in all aspects of general ophthalmology including routine eye care, dry eye, allergic diseases, cataracts, glaucoma and more.
Dr. Kelmenson is a Denver native and completed medical school at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2007. After completing her internship at the University of Colorado, she served as chief resident at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. She then continued on to Tufts New England Eye Center/Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston for her fellowship, where she specialized in cornea, anterior segment and refractive surgery. Dr. Kelmenson is a board-certified fellow with the American Board of Ophthalmology. She published several text book chapters in the areas of Allergic Eye Disease and Corneal Dystrophies, in addition to multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals. She served as an official ophthalmologist for the Denver Nuggets from 2012-2017.
Outside of her rewarding profession, Dr. Kelmenson enjoys skiing, hiking, biking and traveling.
