About Brigid O'Holleran, MD
Brigid O’Holleran, MD, provides open and minimally invasive general surgery, as well as breast, trauma, robotic and acute care surgery. She treats a wide-variety of surgical conditions including breast cancer, benign breast masses, mastitis, hernias, gallstones, gallbladder disease, lipomas, soft tissue masses, gastrointestinal disease, colon cancer, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, appendicitis, bowel obstruction, small bowel tumors and port placement for chemotherapy.
A native of North Platte, Nebraska, Brigid earned her bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha where she earned her medical doctorate. Following medical school, she completed her residency in general surgery at the University of Utah where she trained in general surgery and surgical specialties at the University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Primary Children’s Medical Center, Intermountain Medical Center and the Salt Lake City VA Hospital. After finishing residency, she became board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
She moved to Durango with her husband, Matt, in 2017. They have a son and two dogs. When Dr. O’Holleran is not working, her favorite activities include spending time with her family, skiing, trail running, mountain biking, hiking, camping and backpacking.
