About James Bainbridge, MD
Dr. J. Scott Bainbridge received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, graduating as an officer of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he served as Co-Chief Resident. Dr. Bainbridge has achieved board certification through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (1992), American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (1996), and American Board of Pain Medicine (2010). He co-founded Denver Back Pain Specialists (www.DenverBackPainSpecialists.com ) in 2012.
Dr. Bainbridge is a senior spinal injection procedure instructor, and has served on the board of directors, and as the Research Committee Chair, for the International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS). He has been a board examiner for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Clinical Assistant Professor for the School of Pharmacy, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, at the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Bainbridge’s professional organizational memberships include the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, International Spine Intervention Society, North American Spine Society, American Academy of Pain Medicine, AMA, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, and American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Dr. Bainbridge He is actively involved in carrying out clinical research, and is the Director of Clinical Research for Nimbus Concepts, LLC.
Dr. Bainbridge’s approach to patient care is multi-faceted. An accurate diagnosis and a specific treatment plan, which may include physical or other manual therapies, medication or injection therapy, consideration of surgery, and always includes patient education, are key. The ultimate goal is not only pain relief, but also the empowerment of patients with the knowledge and self care programs to manage their spine and other conditions over a lifetime.
Scott enjoys time with his family, running, biking, coaching, Tai Chi, and the simple joys of life.
