About Lucas Schnell, DO

Lucas Schnell, DO, views his relationship with his patients as a partnership. He believes that a great outcome requires both patient commitment and physician excellence. "My passion is helping improve the quality of life of my patients," says Dr. Schnell. He treats all shoulder and elbow conditions, including arthritis of the shoulder and elbow, hip and knee arthritis,rotator cuff/labral tears, meniscus/ACL tears, fractures/dislocations; sprains and ligament injuries. Dr. Schnell performs total shoulder replacements, reverse total shoulder replacements, elbow/knee/hip replacements, rotator cuff repair/reconstruction, labral/biceps repair, ACL reconstruction, meniscus repairs and fracture repairs.

Dr. Schnell received his Bachelor of Science degree from Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City University of Medicine, Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Schnell did his internship/orthopedic surgery residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri. He completed a shoulder fellowship at St. Francis Orthopaedic Institute in Columbus, Georgia. He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has Levels I & II certifications with the Division of Workers’ Compensation.

Dr. Schnell enjoys snowboarding, golf, mountain biking and horseback riding. He also enjoys time with his wife and three daughters.
