About Matthew Claussen, MD

Matthew Claussen, MD, serves as Aspen Family Care's medical director and enjoys all aspects and challenges of family medicine. He believes in an active approach to health and in developing close, trusting relationships with his patients. Matthew provides care for newborns, children, adolescents and adults. He enjoys sports medicine, complex illness diagnosis and management, adolescent medicine and performing minor in-office procedures.

Dr. Claussen earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and then completed the Swedish Family Medicine Residency program. He remains a senior clinical faculty member with UCHSC and supports the practice with its many educational endeavors. Matthew is board-certified in family medicine.

When he is not working with patients, Dr. Claussen spends time with family and friends. He enjoys outdoor activities, photography, painting, music and gardening.
