About Thomas Brown, MD

Dr. Tom Brown established the Colorado Bariatric Surgery Institute in 2001 and it is a nationally recognized Center of Excellence practice. He is a leading surgeon in the development of bariatric procedures in Colorado, and is the most experienced robotic bariatric surgeon in the Rocky Mountain region. Robotic bariatric surgery is the next step forward in advanced technology in weight-loss surgery, making surgery even more precise with quality outcomes.

Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, completed his residency at Western Reserve Care System in Ohio, and served 3 years in the Air Force at Beale AFB as a staff surgeon before settling in Colorado. He has performed 6,000 bariatric procedures with successful outcomes, over 600 of which were performed robotically. Dr. Brown feels that the bariatric program at Parker Adventist Hospital is a comprehensive program with a skilled and compassionate multidisciplinary team, which is key to preparing patients for surgery as well as managing long-term weight loss. Over the last 17 years Dr. Brown has remained in contact with many of his first patients, and is committed to helping all his patients achieve their weight-loss and health goals with long-term follow-up.
