Centura Mercy Hospital is committed to providing whole person care for our entire community, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. Providing care to all patients is grounded in our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ by caring for those who are ill and by nurturing the health of the people in our communities. This guides and inspires our shared Vision of every community, every neighborhood, every life – whole and healthy.
In addition to our faith-based mission, Centura and all health care providers nationwide are required to follow the federal Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA), which ensures public access to emergency services regardless of ability to pay. Centura also has its own Patient Bill of Rights which states that our hospital system provides care regardless of disability, national origin, culture, age, color, race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation. No one is denied examination or treatment of an emergency medical condition because of their source of payment.
While Mercy Hospital has a contractual obligation to collect the patient portion due either before or after a service is rendered, no patient will be denied services. Financial services are available to help those who are unable to pay their patient portion including charity care and financial aid.
Centura provides customized pricing estimates for out-of-pocket costs, including the impact on the patient’s insurance coverage. We guarantee the out-of-pocket cost quote given the services rendered align with the services in the quote.
If you have a concern with your bill, please follow up with our financial counselors who are available to help ease the financial worry of medical care.
