(Centennial, CO.) June 4, 2024 – CommonSpirit Health is pleased to announce that Peter Powers, MBA, FACHE, will serve as Market President for the Greater Colorado and Kansas Market beginning July 22, 2024.
In his role, Powers will focus on meeting the highest standards for patient safety and care, driving market growth, and providing strategic and operational leadership for nine hospitals – Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Penrose Hospital, St. Catherine Hospital – Dodge City, St. Catherine Hospital – Garden City, St. Francis Hospital, St. Francis Hospital – Interquest, St. Mary-Corwin Hospital and St. Thomas More Hospital.
This is a homecoming for Powers, who previously served the CommonSpirit ministry for eight years. Powers joined Longmont United Hospital (LUH) in 2012 as the Director of Strategic Planning & Business Development/Administrative Fellow. In 2015, he became the Vice President of Operations at LUH before transitioning to Chief Operating Officer at St. Anthony Hospital in 2017. Beginning in 2018, Peter served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of St. Anthony Hospital until his departure in 2020. Prior to joining CommonSpirit in 2012, Peter was the President and Managing Partner of Domain Companies – a contracting firm he co-founded in 2007 based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Most recently, he served as CEO of Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida – one of the largest hospitals in the country.
Powers earned his bachelor’s degree in public affairs with a minor in business and sociology from Indiana University. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia.
Powers’ ability to respond to a rapidly changing landscape, while collaborating with key stakeholders, will elevate CommonSpirit’s commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients in both our rural and metropolitan markets in Colorado and Kansas.
