About John Eakin, MD
John Eakin, MD, believes everyone deserves access to state-of-the-art health care to help them stay healthy and active. He is committed to providing comprehensive care that combines advanced medical expertise with personalized attention. By fostering open communication and mutual trust, Dr. Eakin ensures patients actively share in the decision-making of their treatment plans.
He prioritizes non-operative interventions aiming to restore function and alleviate pain through therapies tailored to each individual’s needs. When surgical interventions become necessary, Dr. Eakin approaches each procedure with precision and care, striving for the best possible outcome and a swift return to activity. His ultimate goal is to partner with patients throughout their journey – from diagnosis through recovery – supporting them to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Eakin received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed an orthopedic surgery internship at the Naval Medical Center San Diego and his orthopedic surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Eakin also completed a sports medicine fellowship through Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe, California.
Outside of work, Dr. Eakin enjoys spending time with friends and family, snowboarding, cycling, mountain biking, hiking, and traveling to new places. Additionally, he serves as a team physician for U.S. Ski & Snowboard and as an orthopedic surgeon in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
