About Allen Tanner, MD
Allen H. Tanner II, MD, understands the vital nature of emergent surgical care, providing life-saving interventions minutes upon arrival to the hospital. With a deep commitment to the patient care process, Dr. Tanner devotes himself to providing emergent surgical care to trauma and general surgery patients. He specializes in trauma and acute care surgery, surgical critical care and general surgery. Dr. Tanner provides continued resuscitative and acute care as needed, taking time to address ongoing needs of the critical patient and their family.
Dr. Tanner completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Duke University Medical Center. He completed general surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Center at Houston and obtained his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Tanner is a double board-certified practitioner and serves as Director of Research and Residency at Penrose Hospital.
When not treating patients, Dr. Tanner enjoys the outdoors and time with his wife and four children.
