About Amit Bhavsar, MD
Amit Bhavsar, MD, approaches every patient as a unique and distinct individual. He works to factor his patients’ goals, beliefs, and values into his treatment recommendations. Dr. Bhavsar is an advocate for preventive medicine, screenings, stress reduction, and overall health and happiness to maximize his patients’ life and health.
Dr. Bhavsar received his bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from Texas A&M University and his doctorate from the Uniformed Services University in Maryland. He completed his internship and residency in family medicine at Womack Army Medical Center in North Carolina and additional residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii.
Dr. Bhavsar spent 21 years as an army physician, including two overseas tours and four combat deployments. He served as chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and Chief of Surgery at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Moore in Georgia. After retiring from Ft. Moore in Georgia, Dr. Bhavsar continued in a variety of positions including medical director of obstetrics in the emergency department and residency faculty.
Outside of work, Dr. Bhavsar is an avid distance runner and cyclist. He enjoys winter sports, such as skiing and snowboarding, and spending time with his partner, children and pets.
