About Andrea Lewis, DO
Andrea Lewis, DO, specializes in family medicine and osteopathic manipulation because it allows her to work with a diverse group of patients and their families. She enjoys treating patients of all stages of life, from newborn to geriatric, including helping with the musculoskeletal changes of pregnancy and babies and children learning how to navigate the world. Dr Lewis’ experience with public health and underserved communities helps her to successfully work with patients who have various lifestyles and life circumstances. She has a strong belief that families come in all shapes, sizes and configurations.
Dr. Lewis is originally from St. Louis, MO, and spent many summers in Colorado, camping with her family. She completed her bachelor’s degree in genetics and master’s degree in diagnostic medical ultrasound from the University of Missouri. Dr. Lewis then moved to Denver to work in cardiac ultrasound at local hospitals before deciding to learn more about encouraging health and preventing disease. She went back to school at the Colorado School of Public Health to complete a master’s degree in public health and then earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Touro University California. Dr. Lewis completed her residency at Southern Colorado Family Medicine, followed by additional training in neuromuscular/osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) with Rocky Vista University and Skyridge Medical Center in Parker, CO.
Dr. Lewis returned to Southern Colorado Family Medicine as a faculty member because working at the practice gives her the opportunity to team up with patients and their families to balance physical, mental and spiritual health. She has a special interest in providing and teaching OMM, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), women’s health and LGBTQ care.
