About Camille Azar, MD
Dr. Camille Azar has served St. Mary-Corwin as a Gastroenterologist since 2005 and has proved to be an asset to the medical team and Southern Colorado communities. He is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine and has been a practicing physician for over 20 years. Dr. Azar actively participates in the Connected Care telehealth initiative at St. Mary-Corwin.
A Lebanese native, Dr. Azar received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of St. Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983. He completed an Internal Medical residency in New York at Long Island College Hospital in 1991; a Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Toronto in Canada in 1993; and a Fellowship in Therapeutic Endoscopy at Erasme Hospital in Belgium in 1995.
After this extensive training, Dr. Azar began his medical practice at Sacre-Coeur Hospital in Beirut as an attending physician in the Gastroenterology division.
In addition, Dr. Azar's residency included training in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine and he served at Chief Resident in Anatomical Pathology. He has also contributed his expertise to numerous presentations and publications.
Dr. Azar is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the Lebanese Medical Association.
