About David Biggs, MD
David D. Biggs, MD, believes the most important aspect of a physician/patient relationship is trust. He strives to communicate with patients in a way that gives them confidence that he always has their best interests in mind. He enjoys explaining treatment options in a clear, honest and compassionate way. Dr. Biggs treats benign and malignant hematology and general oncology with a special interest in breast cancer and palliative medicine including hospice care. He is trained to perform bone marrow aspiration and biopsies as well as lumbar puncture.
After graduating from DePauw University and University of Kansas Medical School, Dr. Biggs completed a residency in internal medical at the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is board-certified in both internal medicine and hematology and oncology. He worked in the ChristianaCare Health System in Wilmington, Delaware and served as the Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Biggs has received several awards and honors, including being named one of Castle Connolly America’s Top Doctors in Cancer Care from 2009-2015.
When not serving the needs of patients, he enjoys skiing, hiking, bicycling, sailing and traveling.
