About Sharmini Long, MD

Dr Long relocated to the Parker area from Birmingham Alabama where she was in private practice. She earned her doctorate of medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. She went on to complete internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  

Dr Long is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Her special interests include thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and diabetes disorders.  She is skilled in thyroid ultrasound and in office ultrasound guided thyroid biopsy. Dr. Long believes in a comprehensive approach to patient care with an emphasis on patient empowerment through education.  Her patients appreciate her warm personal demeanor and her willingness to listen. 

Dr. Long works  side-by-side with her patients to improve their health and educate them on how to best take care of themselves. This team approach, patient and physician, is the backbone of her practice.
