About Toby Genrich, MD
Dr. Toby Genrich grew up in District 20 and returned to Colorado Springs in October 2012. He feels very fortunate to be back in his hometown and blessed to have the opportunity to practice in the same town that his father, a pediatrician, practiced for over 40 years.
Dr. Genrich graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Mass Communications in 1992. He went on to pursue a career in corporate public relations in Boston where he also received a Master of Arts degree in Business Communications from Emerson College in 1994. After several years in “the business world” including a position as Executive Director for the Pikes Peak Region of the American Heart Association, and serving as Vice President of Corporate Development for Pikes Peak United Way, Dr. Genrich felt called to medicine and changed career paths.
Dr. Genrich completed his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in 2004 and went on to complete his obstetrics and gynecology residency in the U.S. Air Force at Wright Patterson Medical Center/Wright State University in Dayton, OH. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow in the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. He has extensive experience in obstetrics, minimally-invasive and robotic surgery, pelvic pain management, vulvar cosmetic surgery, as well as adolescent and menopausal gynecologic care.
“I feel strongly that God had a plan for me and my family all along - I just wasn’t listening closely enough. I know that being back in Colorado Springs and doing what I love, is where we are supposed to be.” Dr. Genrich is happily married to his High School sweetheart, Lori (Clark) Genrich who is a speech and language pathologist. They have three beautiful children – Madeline, Emma and Tyler.
