About Bradley Dempsey, MD
Brad Dempsey, MD, enjoys working at Southern Colorado Family Medicine (SCFM) because of the broad scope of experiences and the opportunities to interact with resident physicians. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, he is passionate about improving efficiency in treatment protocols and the electronic medical record (EMR) workflow. Dr. Dempsey is excited about the expansion of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) exams in inpatient and outpatient settings and continues to work on expanding access for treatments of substance use disorders to provide a model clinic for residents.
Dr. Dempsey grew up in New Mexico and has traveled throughout Latin America with global health groups, including Amigos de las Americas and Unite for Sight, all formative experiences leading him to practice medicine. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and foreign languages as well as his medical degree from the University of New Mexico. He then completed his residency in family medicine through the Lincoln Medical Education Partnership program in Nebraska. After residency, Dr. Dempsey worked in a rural federally qualified health center (FQHC) in southern Colorado.
Outside of work, Dr. Dempsey enjoys spending time with his wife who is also a faculty physician with SCFM, and their two sons. He also enjoys snowboarding, gardening, mountain biking, doing home improvement projects and exploring local restaurants.
