About Herman Peters, MD
Charlie Peters, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon and surgical oncologist whose philosophy on health care has been shaped by his experience treating patients diagnosed with cancer. Dr. Peters aims to educate, comfort and provide hope while developing individualized treatment plans to optimize outcomes for his patients. Dr. Peters utilizes multi-disciplinary treatment strategies combined with minimally-invasive surgical techniques to achieve the best possible results for his patients. Dr. Peters performs a wide variety of procedures for both benign and malignant pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract, hepatobiliary system, skin and soft tissues. In addition to specializing in minimally-invasive techniques, Dr. Peters is trained in treating malignancies which have spread throughout the abdomen and peritoneum with cytoreductive surgery and intra-peritoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).
Dr. Peters earned his medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, followed by a general surgery residency at the University of Florida where he was a highly decorated chief resident. He then completed a two-year fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at Virginia Commonwealth University.
When not treating patients, Dr. Peters enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and dogs.
